📍 Location & Directions

  • Ilfracombe Seafront (Promenade / Wilder Road) EX34 9BG

  • Opposite Weatherspoons, near the bus stop and public toilets
    Full location available on Google Maps - Please look up Ilfracombe Market we are listed

Arrival & Setup

  • Traders may arrive from 7:30am
    Please aim to be set up by 9:45am
    Market opens at 10:00am

  • If you require additional setup time, please let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate

    Access & Unloading
    Access is via the entrance near the bus stop (opposite Weatherspoons)

    Please drive slowly when entering — this is a public walkway with dogs and pedestrians

  • Unload first, then move your vehicle to parking if you dont have parking behind. Please be mindful not to block the access fully.

  • Hazards - be careful of pedestrians and dogs

On arrival:
👉 Please look for Kelly in a high-vis vest
You will be directed to your pitch and parking position

🚗 Parking & Unloading

  • Parking will be arranged close to your pitch where possible, with final positioning confirmed on arrival.

  • You will be directed on arrival to the most suitable parking and setup position

  • Please wait to be positioned before unloading

⚠️ Gazebo & Setup Requirements

Some pitch areas are on grass and some are hard standing

Please ensure your setup is suitable for both surfaces

  • On grass: gazebos must be pegged and weighted

  • On hard standing: gazebos must be securely weighted

Vehicles may assist with stability, but proper weights are still required at all times

Please ensure your gazebo is good quality and suitable for outdoor trading conditions

👉 Lower-cost or lightweight gazebos (e.g. basic £50 models) are unlikely to withstand coastal winds and may not be suitable for this market

Wind Conditions (Important)
Ilfracombe is a coastal location and wind conditions can be unpredictable

  • Strong gusts can occur without warning

  • Wind may not always be forecast

  • Conditions can change quickly throughout the day

Please ensure your gazebo, stock, and displays are fully secured at all times

👉 Safety is essential — if a setup is not secure, you may be asked to take action before trading

☕ Toilets Facilities


There are public toilet facilities on site, provided by the council

  • These are pay-to-use

Alternatively, some traders choose to use the facilities at Wetherspoons by purchasing a drink (e.g. a coffee) while there

Ilfracombe Market is held in a public open space, so footfall can vary and cannot be guaranteed

    If the event goes ahead, bookings are non-refundable if you choose not to attend your pitch.

  • In cases of adverse weather, this may be reviewed for food traders, and where possible we may look to move your booking to an alternative date to prevent food waste - this applies to baked food like cakes cookies etc. Not fast food.

  • If the market is cancelled by the organiser, your booking will be transferred to a future date
