Please read the details below carefully — we’re really looking forward to launching our first Watermouth Castle market and watching it grow.

📍 Location & Directions

The Castle is situated on the main A399 coast road, midway between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin.

  • From Barnstaple:
    Take the B3230 to Ilfracombe, then continue on the A399 towards Combe Martin

👉 Watermouth Castle is located on the right-hand side, approximately 3 miles from Ilfracombe

Arrival & Setup

  • Arrival from 7:45am

  • Please drive directly towards the main castle entrance — you can’t miss it

  • Pitches will be allocated upon arrival

  • If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible

👉 The market is located at the front of Watermouth Castle, outside the main attraction, on the hard standing car park area

On arrival:
👉 Please look for Kelly in a high-vis vest
You will be directed to your pitch and parking position

🚗 Parking & Unloading

  • Parking will be arranged close to your pitch where possible, with final positioning confirmed on arrival.

  • You will be directed on arrival to the most suitable parking and setup position

  • Please wait to be positioned before unloading

  • Vehicles may need to be moved after unloading, depending on layout and space

  • Please follow instructions on the day

🛍️ Market Overview

  • A curated artisan market set at the front of Watermouth Castle

  • The market is free to access for visitors

👉 Entry into the castle attraction itself requires a ticket

📦 What to Bring

  • Gazebo and weights

  • Tables and display setup

  • Float and/or card reader

  • Suitable equipment for weather conditions

⚠️ Gazebo & Setup Requirements

  • All pitches are on hard standing (not grass)

  • Gazebos must be securely weighted

👉 Leg weights are essential (coastal location)
👉 Ground stakes cannot be used

👉 Traders without adequate weights may be asked not to set up

☕ Facilities

Watermouth Castle will have catering available on site, including:

  • Tea & coffee

  • Breakfast and lunch options

  • Traders will be issued wristbands for access to toilet facilities

👣 Footfall Expectations

Watermouth Castle sees strong visitor numbers, particularly over Easter

👉 Expected footfall: 500+ visitors across the day
(based on previous Easter weekend attendance)

🌬️ Weather & Conditions

  • This is a coastal location and weather conditions can change quickly

  • In the event of poor weather, any updates will be communicated as early as possible

  • Traders are responsible for ensuring their setup is safe and secure at all times
